I order from amazon.com from the used books section, but I usually check with my school bookstore website to compare prices first, usually I can get them cheaper online, but if not, I'll buy them from my campus or nearby campus bookstore. If I have ordered a book and it still hasn't come in, I buy the book from the bookstore and use it in class until the book I ordered online comes in, then I take the book I bought from the bookstore back based on their refund policies, but you also have to really look into the refund policies so that you can get a full refund by the deadline date. I've saved a ton of money also selling the books back online. I recently purchased a book for summer school that cost $22 and sold it back for $28.

I always get my textbooks from either half.com or Amazon.com. Amazon.com has an option where you can purchased used versions from other sellers. I can guarantee that you will save tons of money. You can usually get your books in about a week, and yes, I think you need a credit or debit card. But I think that you can also have Amazon deduct the payment directly from your checking account. Don't waste your time in the lines at the college bookstore.

I've used places like half.com, amazon.com, ebay, etc and while they are pretty good, you run issues of not ordering the right book (new editions, etc) and them not arriving due to being lost in transit. You do need a credit card or debit card for half.com. Just go buy them from the bookstore. You know the book is the right one, and it helps support the school.

I expect that you will need a credit card for most online book purchasing websites. If you do order your books, make sure to order them weeks in advance because it sometimes takes forever for books to arrive.

make sure you get the right ISBN of the books you'll need. and yes, you need a credit card. as far as how long it would take....usually about a 3-6 days but sometimes it depends to the seller of the books. i like getting my books from half coz it saves me lots of moolah!
