I disagree with Israel. I can't see that the two soldiers are different than the nearly one thousand Pallestinians, Lebanese and Hezbollah who are imprisioned by Israel. Many are women and civilians, some for years without being charged. Why are the Israelis set apart?

Because they are furthering US distructive policies in the Mid-East.The United States and Israel are acting as one. The illegal pre-emptive war on Iraq was prelude and made possible Israel’s campaign of aggression on Lebanon. No solution to this crisis can be forthcoming unless the United States is isolated and equally condemned by the international community.

Force cannot justify what law denies. Israel’s continued war crimes, which are a staple of its foreign policy and occupation of Palestine, constitute the gravest threat to international peace in decades.

Not I! As a matter of fact I believe Israel was attacked first with the raid that Hezbollah made on Israeli soil and killing 9 Israeli soldiers and kidnapping 2 Israeli soldiers. Israel has been enduring these type of attacks for years now inside Israel. In my opinion if Israel should ask for help militarily from the United States in the form of troupes we should go. I think we should take this opportunity under the UN cease fire decree to install our forces in South Lebanon and stand with Israel.

I agree with Israel! This all started after WW2 with the Oslo accords. The Palestinians were on the German side of the war, and in the treaty negotiations Jews were given land from Palestine. Almost every war ever fought someone has lost/gained land. Well the Palestinians got mad and declared war on Israel. Israel won and Palestine lost more land. Then PaLestine tried it again. Ad Lost again. Only after the second attempt they told Israel we were just kidding give our land back. Israel said no. Thats why to this day Palestinian "refugees" are in places like Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran. Its the Palestinians oun fault. After the Oslo accords, Palestine was divided in half. After the two subsequent wars, They were down to about a quarter of what they had to begin with. No one should feel sorry for them. Thats why in the 60s, 70s and 80s you saw kidnappings, bombings, and terrorists acts rise. They hoped Israel would relent and give some land back. No dice!

It is beyond unreasonable, how people can distort history. Israel has been under attack since the inception of their country..Many wars, indiscriminate suicide bombings, just name it and they have endured it. When you have a group of people intent on driving you out of your homeland, someone has to protect their population. They do it well. But it seems that none of the people intent on killing Israelis learn the lesson. They blindly go on. Then blame Israel of all kinds of atrocities.. forgetting that Israel has endured such treatment for more than a half century. On top of all that, their enemies will accept no peace agreement, under any circumstance.. even the land for peace was not honored. So get real and accept that Israel has the right to defend itself.

I have to agree with Israel. Syria and Iran are still running arms into Lebanon for Hezbollah to use against Israel. I think they have every right to initiate preventive measures to break the running of arms. A positive though is the recent remarks from the Government of Lebanon; I think they have finally realized that Hezbollah cannot use their country to conduct terrorist operations. If Hezbollah continues to aggravate Israel, I believe Lebanon will handle Hezbollah (its about time).

I agree with Israel it was time to do something, after all Iran set up Hezbolah camp to atagonize Israel. It was Lebanon's people that were innocent of the two conflicts that I feel sorry for - they, did not ask for the conflict. It was Iran who wanted this - and they knew Israel would strike back.

Would like to know more why peacekeeping troops were not in place faster to remove any pretense, but on the whole strongly believe Israel actions make the situation less manageable than more manageable, and why they do not use half as much effort and expenditures on looking for long term solution, than the very short term solution that firefight offers.

Count me in.

Israel always talks about how nice it is, how peace loving a nation it is that only wants diplomacy and democracy. But it does the complete opposite of what it says it stands for. Killing innocent civilians, oppressing people.

Maybe it's time to start judging nations on their actions and not just on what they say. Talk is cheap my friends, that's what they teach everybody in the Snow white stories. It's what people's intentions are which can be seen through their actions that counts the most.

In my dictionary, Israel is a zionist state founded on the principles of aggression and terrorism. I don't need to prove anything, just look at what they've done in history, and that'll tell the whole story. Stop defending what this guy stands for or what they say, stop defending the indefinsible.

PEACE.

I'm at the point where I am so sick of terrorism, I would condone using nuclear weapons all over the middle east. Make a parking lot out of lebanon and syria and iran. Arab extremists' are a bunch of murdering pigs who can't be reasoned with, or trusted to compromise. Just like mohammed did way back when, either convert to islam, or die. mohammed murdered, raped, and pilaged europe.
