i want to have a job with my own hours where I am doing something fun like having my own advice column. Does anyone have information on where to go for that or how to get started?

I would contact some of the advice columns out there and see how they went about starting their own column and go from there. It all depends on what category your going for in giving advice and if your willing to do the research to sound sensible enough to get followers

Study journalism, get a graduate degree in English, work your way up at a reputable newspaper, at which point you will realize there are better things to do with your life.
Or marry the son/daughter of a publisher.

1) i would find a sponsor[[kinda like a agent]]...someone who supports u & ur dreams& is willin to help...fiancally, physically, mentally help u all the way.
2) i would start wit a small advertisement::
like in a local newspaper or something...
start ur advise column in a small news paper...
& try to grow from there....once u get up enuff popularity & support....u could try to goin to magizine publisher....& try to advertize in there...
its all about startin small....work wit wat u have....then grow big!!
