They do promote violence but no more so than any other media of the day. I can't honestly say however that I believe that if some kid plays Grand Theft Auto that he is likely to turn into some kind of serial killer though. There are video games of all types just as there are movies and music of all types. It is unfair that this particular type of media continues to get singled out in this way.

Maybe violence promotes video games, violence has been around a lot longer.

no its violence that promote videogames, everytime theres a war they make a video game about it and everytime theres violence around the world that gives the video game developers ideas on making a game.
