Yes it may be too late. Gymnasts have been doing it since they were very young, esp to teach yourself I wouldn't reccomend that either

well, if handstand and cartwheels are still hard for you, you may not wana try anything by yourself. however if you have a beam that is a few feet on the ground you can just practice you balance walking on it. For competetive gymnastics you are too late, but to just do it as a hobby you can still do it. You may want to look into private lessons with a coach at a local gym. DONT try by yourself, gymnastics is a very hard and mentally challenging sport but with a lot of practice im sure you can get it. As for the handstand/cartwheels part find a wall away from anything you could kick and get into a lunge facing the wall as you lean down kick your back leg up as hard as you can and try to kick straight forward hold for a few seconds then kick back down, try to stay up a lil longer each time. once you perfect that you can move on the cartwheels, get in a lunge again this time when you put your hands down turn it sideways parralel with your front foot, as your leaning forward do the same kicking technique and rotate your abs with your leg that comes down first.

No it's not too late. You might not make the Olympic team, but so what? You'll still enjoy it.

most gymnist started when they're little.. but you can give it a try. just the bones aren't as flexible as when you were a kid, would be a little difficult.
