The Brass Elephant is nice if you want a truly romantic dinner:

The Chart House also is very nice & has awesome views of the Inner Harbor. (On second thought, scratch the Chart House - didn't realize it closed five years ago.)

If you want a fun place to go for dinner, try GAMPY'S (Great American Melting Pot):

Velleggia's is the best best to go for Italian:

Sisson's is a great brewpub that also features Cajun & Creole cuisine.

Best New Restaurant/Best Italian Restaurant
La Tavola
248 Albemarle St., (410) 685-1859

Ahh. This is Italian food made the way God intended: Fresh homemade pasta served-not smothered-with flavorful, intelligent sauces. We are not exaggerating when we say that this casually elegant eatery has the best Italian food we've had outside of Italy. Best of all, the appetizers, soups, salads, and pastas at this newest of Little Italy trattorias are very reasonably priced for the gourmet quality-all pasta dishes are $11 (seafood pasta dishes are $13 to $15), all appetizers and salads $5, and the huge homemade desserts are $5 as well. Not to be missed is the mafalde alla Fiorentina-an unusual dish that mixes wide pasta with ricotta cheese, raisins, and pine nuts for a truly original and truly delicious flavor. Try the fennel salad-veramente delizioso, with the licorice tang of fennel piqued with balsamic vinaigrette and moderated with shavings of excellent Parmesan cheese. Food lovers should not miss the unusual dessert star, pears in gorgonzola sauce-chè buòno!

Three great restaurants in Little Italy: Velleggia's, Chipparelli's, or Sabatino's. After dinner you must go to Vaccaro's Pastry Shop.
