Sometimes if you have two different messengers on your computer the tend to crash. But if you don't have that, I'm not sure what else could be the problem.
Go into Your control Panel on desktop....Choose add/remove programs. Select Yahoo and remove. Than go back to yahoo site and download a new version....And reinstall

there became into an intermittent login subject final night, June twenty 2nd, that affected many of the Yahoo! Messenger shoppers (and a few Yahoo! Mail shoppers). jointly because it wasn’t an argument to login to Yahoo! solutions, as you will see that those tormented with the aid of the login subject have been waiting to come again at here and ask questions, some Yahoo! sites/products have been affected. notwithstanding, as a results of fact I even have top type (paid) Yahoo! centers (i..e. Yahoo! Voice) i became into waiting to speak online with the Yahoo! help team and purely found out the difficulty is now solved and the whole downtime became into only 2 hours. we are able to now all login to Yahoo! web content and Yahoo! Messenger.

If you click on "start" in the bottom left of your screen, then click on "control panel" and then find "add/remove programs"... you should see yahoo messenger down towards the bottom of your list. There you can click on "change/remove" and it will ask you what you want to do. You can have it totally removed that way. One additional thing to consider, once that happens, then go to "start" then to "my computer" then to drive "c", then to "program files"... down toward the bottom of that list you will find "yahoo" and you can right click on that and delete that program in it's entirety. Then you should be free of it, except it's all in your recycle bin until you empty that. That should do it.
