I am 11 weeks pregnant... and I do not like my doctor, I can not understand a word he says and when he does check ups on me he does the "uh-huh" or "mhhmm" sounds. He didn't explain to me why he was pressing on my stomach and abdomen which really hurt. Think it's time to find a new doctor?

yes. this is a good time to find another. if he can't tell you what he is doing to you and why, he needs to go. it's his job to make you feel comfortable as his patient. you are the one seeking his services, not the other way around.

YES find a new doctor. Or better yet...find a midwife. You have a better chance of having them treat you like you are an individual instead of just another pregnant thing.

Good luck on your search and be open and up front about what you expect.

Sure find a new doctor, but maybe you can ask him what he is doing... Ask all the questions you want, you have the right to know. But if you are not comfy with him now then you wont be when you go into labor, get a new one! Good Luck

You should find a Doctor immediately if EVER you feel uncomfortable after the first visit. This is going to be a very stressful, intimidating time for you , you should definitely feel comfortable and have ALL your questions and concerns answered.

He was checking the location of the cervix. If you can't understand what he says then yes find a new doctor, or ask him what he is checking

Your supposed to tell your doctor if it hurts. Your also supposed to ask ?'s if you don't understand. I'm sure he was just feeling to make sure everything was okay. It wont hurt the baby, baby is still to tiny to be hurt by that.

You should always feel comfortable with your dr. How many check-ups have you had? You should have left changed drs. as soon as you realized you couldn't understand him. Believe me, if you're not comfortable now, your labor will be worst. Good luck!!!

Yeah, I would change docs. You need to feel comfortable with the one who will be delivering your little one.
They should explain everything they are doing so I would get a new doc if I were you.

definitely. even if you have the best doctor in the world, if you dont feel comfortable with them move on. you should always feel as comfortable as possible with someone who is going to be examining your body.

congrats with the baby!

Yes.. he should be telling you everything he's doing and why he's doing it. I would find a new one now before you get farther along in the pregnancy.
