Looking at web sites and doing one of my own. I need to find someone to do it, a host? a designer? Anyone out there know how to get this info if its not posted on the site?

I run a web services site that might fit your needs.

First let's address web hosting;

Please visit http://www.mxdwebservice.com
and review our plans.

We offer plans starting at 5GB of web space and 100GB of traffic and 1 free domain name for $69.24/year...that is less than $6/month. Currently, our largest plan consists of 25GB of web space with 400GB of traffic. Every plan includes one free domain name.

All plans come with a large complement of free scripts and tools, designed to help you build and maintain a professional-looking web site; including tools like Joomla! & PHPNuke (content management systems), osCommerce (a shopping cart/billing system) and more than 20 other similar free tools!

Like any good web host we offer our clients 24/7 customer support, including a trouble ticket system, live chat and phone/email support.

In addition, we also offer a complete library of video tutorials to help guide you visually through a large variety of possible questions about running and maintaining your web space. Nothings better than seeing how it's done step by step!

Thats not all! You will also find a growing library of articles designed to help guide and inform you, should you decide to run a web business.

I would suggest that you visit our site as there is a wealth of free information available and more details about the hosting plans we offer.

Next let's tackle web design;

We offer professional, custom web designs starting at a basic rate of $100/page. Because every web design is unique to it's owners wants and needs; it is always best to consult with us directly about your needs. Please feel free to send us an email about your design needs at; sales@mxdwebservice.com and we will gladly assist you with any questions you may have.

Aside from our paid web design service, remember that all hosting plans include Site Studio for easy point and click web design. Using this tool, a quality site can be designed and published with NO knowledge of web coding or design. As with any client, I welcome any question you may have while designing a web site on your own.

I try very hard to provide as much as possible for each client and I will work as hard for you.

Thank you for your time and I hope to have helped you in some way. :)

You can do what's called a "WHOIS" which tells you who owns the web domain and also who the technical contact is for the website. Go to http://www.dnsstuff.com and enter the web site address in the WHOIS box to get this information. The only thing is as a domain owner, you can "lock" your registrant information so people can not look it up using these techniques, but most are not locked.

If it is locked, another method I would try is sending an email to "webmaster@domain.com" (replace word 'domain' with the actual domain of the site you are interested in), in fact, most domains have a "catch-all" meaning you can put anything before the "@" symbol and it willl be sent to a working email address. Hope that helps.

Yeah, you'll need a host. Try Powweb or do a Google for hosts. Then just use a template for your website if you dont know how to design your own. Or you could hire me to do all of this for you.
