Meditation is the key. If you're not one of those who are naturally gifted with strong skills, you're going to have to work on it.

As you gain control over your mind, and are able to relax and reach that state in meditation where your brain waves are at the right frequency, that is where you'll get in touch with this side of yourself. I think it's theta....

In the meantime, I can recommend getting a copy of The Idiot's Guide to Being Psychic.

I'm really interested in this question myself. I've been reading books, but am only finding hints, ideas, and philosophies.

As far as I can tell, we all are getting intuitive/psychic information. It's just that some of us are better at paying attention and understanding them.

The first step seems to be to figure out what your particular means of gaining such information is. When you are "picking up" certain information off of people, does it come in the form of vision/images, sounds/words/thoughts, or feelings? (See resources that explain clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairsentience.) When you think you've figured out what your particular strengths are, then it seems that the next step is to learn to quiet your conscious mind so you can pay attention to the intuitive "whispers". You might want to check into meditation and/or self-hypnosis for this.

By the way, some good authors are Allison Dubois (she's the woman the TV show "Medium" is based on), James Van Praagh, and John Edward. Sylvia Brown is good too, but she passes on her particular ideas and dogma of what and how the spirit world IS. It might be a little limiting in you're own explorations.

BUT..., beware of paying too much attention to their way of doing things and all "how-to" programs. It can be frustrating because if you don't have the experiences they say you should, it's easy to think you're failing.

Another good book is the Celestine Prophecy. (Not really about psychic ability, but discusses a perspective that lends itself to opening your mind to messages from the Universal Mind.)

There are an normous amount of claims made in this area, about different kinds of abilities, so you wouldn't want to waste your time trying to develop one of those abilities if it didn't really exist.

That would be the first part I think: pick one of the claims, and research for evidence that you would satisify you that it was possible to even do in the first place.

Then if you decide to pursue it, make up a test you can take from time to time to measure your current success and level, or to rule out that what you're tryingt o do even works. Without that kind of test, you might try to develop something for years and find it never really worked other than by coincidence.

I'd suggest telekinises: moving things with your mind. That will be obvious whether you are learning to do it or not. Something like sensing vibes is not a good one, because there is no objective way for you to tell if it is working or getting better.

"Practice makes perfect".

There are techniques, but you should be aware that many have been driven quite literally insane by abilities such as those you wish to increase. Although insanity is an essential stepping stone to enlightenment, not everyone reaches the other side. Some get lost forever.

Consider the 'Collective Subconscious'.

Best of luck to you, traveller.

Chronic Masturbation is said to develop psychic abilities. You will want to masturbate at least 4 times a day. Also, doing so on webcam is even better!

simple, concentrating... but it takes a while and it doesn't always work... ltry simple things such as knowing who's calling you before you answer the phone (or check caller id) Still, I'd recommend you go to someone who knows a thing or two about these things... experimenting with that can be dangerous to mind and psyche.
gdluck!
