No, the US will start fighting because of some other country that threatens Israel and/or America. US will let Israel handle itself and America will handle any other problems that stem from it.

I believe that many young male American Jews are currently doing so. I do not believe that we as a nation will ever directly commit our military to aid the Israelis. To do so would be to alienate what few Arab friends we have in the region.
