Indeed!! I washed them ALL, because clothes comes from factories and only God's knows who have touch them before you did. Even though they do smell all clean, new and some come wrapped in packages, you still need to freshened them up. Newborns skin are extremely sensitive and might get allergic reactions from germs and/or chemicals.
Good luck!!☺

Yes you should wash your baby's new clothes (and hand-me-downs) before you put them onto your baby. A newborn baby's skin can be very sensitive to the dyes companies put into their clothing. Also make sure you use a detergent that will be safest for your baby (ones that don't have any perfumes). There are more than one of these on the market now-a-days to make it easier on the wallet.
I do not recommend washing all of your newborns clothing (especially if you happened to have gotten a lot at your baby-shower). Babies grow very quickly so he/she could be out of those 0-3 months before they hit 3 months. Wash just about a weeks worth to begin with and then feel your way from there.
Hope this has helped you some. Good luck with the new baby!

Yes, you should preferably wash them before putting them on the baby. There is always residue left over after the manufacturing process that may irritate the baby's skin. Although, in times of need it's okay not to. For example, when my daughter was a baby, we were out and about and she perhaps was coming down with a virus, because she threw up all over her outfit and then promptly threw up all over her spare outfit. We ran to a nearby department store (can't remember which) and bought a new outfit to put on her. Since there was no way to wash it before wearing, we just put it on her - luckily, she did not get a rash or anything. Hope this helps!

I would and did just to stay on the safe side. Those clothes go through a lot of hands and get put into different boxes and shelves where they may gather dust. If you don't, I doubt anything more than a rash or skin irritation might happen to your baby, but again, what does it hurt to stay on the safe side and wash the clothes? Plus, I love the smell and softness of baby soaps like Dreft.

You should.
You should also wash your new clothes before you wear them. You don't know what conditions were at the factory when they were made...so there may be a residue of something that could be bad for the baby on them...or in the storage or shipping process there may have been bugs. Or maybe the person that sewed them didn't wash their hands after going to the bathroom...I definitely wouldn't want that on my child!
You really should...it's better to be safe than sorry.
Good luck with the little one!

I think its the best idea. The clothes arrive to the stores from overseas while traveling in containers. They are in boxes and then handled by employees while hanging in the stores. Then consumers browse the racks and touch these items.
You dont want all that dust and peoples hands on your baby's skin. So just wash the items in your regular detergant and you'll be fine.
I think the Dreft (baby detergent) is a waste of money unless your child has a skin allergy to your regular detergant. I use Purex and my daughter is fine.

Yes it is recommended that you was all clothing and linen for a newborn baby, due to the fact that irritants could be in the materials, and to ensure that there is no bacteria in the clothing/linen. Baby's skin is sensitive and rashes and allergies can easily start with a piece of clothing or linen. Also wash with a non biological detergent and sensitive skin softener.

It is imperative that you do this, and make sure to use a very gentle detergent like ALL for babies, or something like that. Your babies eyes (yes the eyes) are very suseptible to receiving germs for the first week or so after birth (the cornea hasn't firmed up completely), and putting on clothes covered in germs, OR USING A STRONG DETERGENT to wash them can cause the germs to get into your babies system. Do this but make sure you use the correct type of detergent.

Absolutely!
A newborn's skin is extremely sensitive. Wash the clothes in Dreft or other detergent made especially for baby clothes to get rid of any bacteria, or textile residue that may be on the clothes.
