Good photo editing programs are Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe ImageReady CS2,
Adobe Illustrator CS2, Macromedia Fireworks 8.
Photoshop and Imageready is a good combination, while illustrator can put in some additional effects to pictures, and fireworks as well.

Photoshop is pricy. StudioLine is free. GIMP is free as well but only edit RGB not CMYK.
