I do not know...My MAN does not scratch himself in public, and very rarely does he at home In front of me..
I guess he just has manners, and he is a stereotypical metal head-biker type guy...
He has good personal hygiene and manners, I can not speak for the rest of the guys in the world, I have seen many other guys do this and it disgusts me...

I personally do not do this. I see this a lot, its disgusting and very inappropriate. I see guys that do this as trash. What do you think a child thinks of this when they see this happen? There should be tickets handed out for acts in public like this. Just my 2 cents.

For the same reason women do... we have an itch. It's not a gender issue, as much as you are trying to make it one. I can't tell you how many times I've seen some cow scratching away at her camel toe through her spandex pants. Nasty.

And, assuming you mean scratching their "nether regions", I would opine that any man with any degree of class would not do that -- in public.
