Camping near Albany, New York?

Question

I am looking for a place to go primitive camping as near to Albany, New York as possible. Even if not primitive, any info on camp sites would be greatly appreciated!

I LOVE the Adirondacks...but I guess it depends on what you consider close to albany. I don't consider Old Forge, Lake George, Lake Placid, etc. to be too far. Check into those. They're all great and I know from personal experience....whatever you do, enjoy!
