I *adored* that book in high school. It's historical fiction with an edge of high-falutin' Harlequin romance, like superheroes in the French Revolution, complete with love interest. I even read a particularly romantic scene for a dramatic interpretation in drama class!

I read it and the sequels and loved them. If you like Zorro or The Three Musketeers, then the action and romance will appeal to you. The descriptions and language may seem old fashioned at first, but it's a great action/suspense story.

Yeah, it's great - a very romantic thriller.
The language is a bit over-fancy but it's a great story and you should have a blast.
DON'T try and get away with just watching a film, there isn't one of them that follows the plot at all closely.

Read it a few years ago, and for the time it was written, a right great read. Definitely worth your time. Happy reading!

Yes, it's not too long and easy to read. It's fun and historical, with a bit of romantic dash.

If you can get or rent that tape in a library or know somebody that has that by all means see if you can get it and watch it it is one of my favorites. I have it on vhs and slowly converting over to DVD

yep, i have that book too.it's a great book. a swashbucking ;-) adventure story. it's historical but not boring. and it's an easy read too. there's even a musical.
