My mechanic cannot get me in for two weeks. The squeak occurs when I turn the wheel or go over a bump. Is it dangerous to drive this way for 2 weeks?

This noise could be caused by a few different things, most of which are front end-related... I agree with the person who said you should consider a different mechanic if he wants you to wait two weeks. Take it elsewhere and have the front end thoroughly inspected...tie rods, ball joints, upper & lower control arms, etc. There are several places that will diagnose the problem at little to no charge. I don't believe I would want to wait two weeks, unless you aren't going to be driving the vehicle during that time.

Yes you can still drive, just take it easy over the bumps, it could possibly be a shock, strut, ball joint, or tire rod. Again, take it easy over the bumps.

You also can go to Monroe, Sears, Pep Boys, or any other tire shop and let them check it out, you don't have to pay for that, its a free service and you dont have to let them fix your car either. A good thing to do is to find out what the problem is and get the part yourself, then get your mechanic to put it on for you. A lot of Mechanics get over on women b/c they(women) don't have any idea whats going on. I've seen mechanics charge women $50 for a part that may have cost $10 or $15.

Look into it Hun and Goodluck

no it will not hurt to drive the car it is in the shock or spring you only hear the noise when turning the wheel or going over bumps it is not a serious problem it will wait 2 weeks for you to see your mechanic

Probably not, but it's better safe than sorry. There are alot of qualified techs around, and the problem would be easy to find by anyone of any qualifications. If your typical tech cannot fit you in faster than 2 weeks on a safety issue, find another one. Make sure they closely inspect the tie rod ends and ball joints as this type of noise is usually one of these two items. Good luck.

I actually suffered from something like that, but it was a constant squeeking when i accelerated and got louder when i stopped. Make sure you get your mechanice to check all the lines to your power steering and also it may be a belt that may need to be replaced. But definitely ask him about it.
