I think that the media has a lot to do with it. With magazines like the Enquirer and Star and what not all claiming so and so is cheating with so and so plus the constant dealing with fans attempting to throw themselves at the celebrity its a lot ot deal with.
Even with all those things as issues every day normal people get divorces all the time. It just seems a lot more often for stars because we are hearing about their latest divorce while joe everybody down the street may have cheated on his wife a dozen times and got a divorce it's not front page news.
Divorce happens everyday to people in all circles. They're making unions no more less sacred than the rest of the world.

In my opinion, the reasons are:
1) They give too much importance to looks.
2) They don't have much of a private life.
3) Many of them do drugs.
4) Their priority is fame and their career, not marriage.
5) They don't have time for their spouse and children.
6) They are busy making money and being admired.
7) They have too many temptations.
8) The environment in which they live and work gives them too many opportunities to be unfaithful to their spouse.
9) They rush into marriage because of the media pressure and publicity.
10) Lack of spiritual and moral values.

The reason it is extermly hard for Celebrity marriages to work out is because of the media today. They try and keep up with eveyrone and if they can't...they make up false information about a certain couple.
You are really right when you say that marriage should be taken seriuosly and the poor children who have to deal with the parents who made stupid decisions.

Well..........it's not happening that way JUST to celebrites, but to EVERYONE getting married. People know they have the option for divorce when things get ugly in their marriage, so they go for it. I agree with you though, it's ridiculous. No one is taking the vows that seriously, eh? I don't even know if I want to get married b/c it's so law and religion based today, rather than committment based, which is what I want. I think I'll come up with my own way to committ to someone for life and try to avoid marriage.

I have to agree with Belindita. At the same time look at the ones that do make it. They are able to keep both their marriage and acting seperate. If they really want to keep their marriage sound. Then they will need to keep it private. But some just crave the attention that being in the public eye offers.
I know I wouldn't want to live their lives. Good luck to them.

First, they do rush into a marriage and relationships. Look at tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. It happened so sudden. Plus they are sorrounded by a materialistic hollywood, eveything is superficial and based on looks. A relationship needs a little humbleness and a strong foundation of faith.

I tend to think that it has a lot to do with being in the public eye so much. Also, some celebrities concentrate on their careers more than their marriages, which is a mistake,in my opinion.

fame and fortune, man...fame and fortune. do you realize that a celeb could give a picture of their wedding to a celeb magazine and get millions of dollars for it? cha ching! i do agree with you! there are a couple people i have known for a while and i never knew they werent married! they think that legal marriage is not worth the expense. (this is for normal people, imsure celebs dont worryabout the expense) for petes sake, if your worried about the expense of marriage, have frozen pizzas at your wedding! Everyone will love ya better for it!

Easy--for the same reason it's so hard for your neighbor(s) to stay in THEIR marriages!
Celebrities have the same problems everyone else does--only we allll know about it because people "need to know"...I don't think my Uncle Johnny's divorce would show up in People Magazine, do you?
