Oh be patient - baby isn't done yet. I went right past 40 weeks with no dilation or effacement or anything. My daughter was eventually born safely and healthy. If you don't have any progression, you usually have to wait until 41 weeks before they'll induce you.

Start going for walks and try some castor oil. If you are worried about it, talk to your doctor. He/she is not going to let anything go to the point of causing damage to either you or the baby. These things take time, and your baby will start its move when it is ready.

I started pumping my breasts and induced labor on my own. My doctor did allow it also. You might give your doctor a call and ask him/her what things you can do to help the baby along, if you are just totally miserable.

Just be patient. It could all happen overnight. Make the most of getting a full nights sleep while you can.
Good luck and Congrats.

You're kidding, right?
Keep going to your prenatal appointments. They'll take care of you.
But I feel your pain...I'm 36 weeks and I'm ready to give my little girl an eviction notice!

The baby will come when he/she is ready and not a moment to soon.
