I have a file on my computer that I don't want anyone else to be able to view. Is there anyway to lock it so you need a password to open it?

depends on file type. With files created using microsoft office ex. Word, Excel and so on, there is a security feature where you can add a password.

Depends on what kind of file it is. Word and Excel allow you to set passwords on documents and spreadsheets, but most other types of files won't.

You can always store the file in a password-protected ZIP archive.

Yes you can password protect documents. Sorry that I'm not quite sure how to do it but I know you can. Good luck!
