Going darker isn't a problem, the warnings you're thinking about mostly apply to bleaching your hair. Peroxide is the chemical in bleaching that you want to avoid. Don't stress, you'll be fine.

I'm not sure if this is what caused it but I dyed my hair while I was pregnant its been about 2 weeks now since I had a miscarriage.
But I may have miscarried for a totally different reason. I keep going through everything I did while I was pregnant and thinking should I have done it. I was about 10 weeks pregnant when I miscarried.

I had my hair dyed too, knowing I was pregnant. It shouldn't hurt the baby, although they DO say to be on the safe side because the reasearch isn't very good pertaining to pregnant women. I wouldn't worry about it, just don't dye our hair every day or anything. Try to use gentler hair dye, and you should be fine!
: ) If all else fails ask your doctor!
Congrats!

It's unlikely. The risk comes from letting the product sit directly on your skin for extended periods of time so that some of the chemicals absorb into your bloodstream. If you were very careful and used gloves and didn't leave the dye in too long, and rinsed really well, you're probably fine.

I wouldnt worry about it, I dont think it can cause birth defects, but they say you dont want to inhale the fumes so be in an open area.... I started dying my hair around 12 weeks and the baby is fine... Dont stress over it. Good Luck

The chances are slim. It's already done so don't worry about it. Just take care of yourself. There are plenty of women who have done things that are not recommended before knowing they are pregnant and they have healthy babys. Good Luck.

yeah, it's not great to dye your hair while pregnant...however, i used the tanning bed and even drank a good bit before i knew i was pregnant....
so, i'll tell you what my OB told me....
don't worry about what you did before b/c it will just stress you out and worry you.
control what you do from here on out and try to relax!!
take care and congrats!

it doesn't cause birth defects..the only problem with colouring your hair is that pregnancy alters the chemistry of your hair and it may not dye properly or the way you want it, you are fine, congratulations!
