It's called an Avatar. Simply click on your name to see, the click "Edit My Info" in the My Q&A section. It'll take you to a screen with an entry for "Picture". Select Use My Yahoo Avatar and create a new one. It'll walk you through a wizard to create a custom look.

in your yahoo account, click on the avatar link before going into your inbox. That will take you to the like to choose your picture

set up a yahoo 360 account , there you can 4 photos of whatever you like,
the edit button will be your friend

sign to yahoo and then go to the avatar section, where you can customized your looks, and then edit your info in the personal settings to display your avatar
