I've always wondered how companies that sell jeans get them 2 fade/darken in patterns. also, how do they do it? is there a kind of chemical or sumthing. And I'm not rly in2 the whole fashion world, so this may seem dumb, but how do the jeans stay without holes even though there's distress? do they stitch it 2gether? I'm asking cuz I thought it'd be cool if I could just try 2 make one cuz I've worn stuff like that my whole life.

There are several processes that jean manufacturers use.
They do enzyme wash, acid wash or mechanical distressing.
Usually after a pair of jeans is sewn together, it goes to the distressing people. I think it's all done by hand.
