i saw a few people just playing off their guitar using their speakers, no amps...what kind of converter or stuff do i need? thx

I would be careful with that the signal to noise ratio is different on a regular speaker compaired to a guitar amp you could easily blow your speakers using a guitar on them. The speakers on the guitar amps are more durable and handle a wider frequency range from a single speaker compaired to regular home speakers

A guitar amp consists primarily of 2 things, a pre-amp and a power-amp. Your speakers are a power-amp, so you need a pre-amp. These can be bought seperately, but i would recommend buying a multi-effects processor (not an individual pedal) as these have pre amps built in. As such you can plug headphones straight in to it and listen through those, or alternatively hook up your speakers.

You can get a pedal that plays though your fm stereo and out of your speakers. However amps get the best cleanest sound.

try a pre-amp
