It depends how long you want to be able to do it for. Logmein.com have a trial period for the Professional version which will allow you to do what you want.
It can also work through firewalls and will allow transference of files which RealVNC won't.

VNC but you need to install the client part in the remote computer dear. VNC server will connect to client and you can monitor each and every events on the remote computer
