With the dwindling fuel supplies/increasing fuel costs and the current lack of a truly viable alternative to the fossil fuel burning combustion engine, what will we be driving in ten years time?

Ten years? Quite likely at least half the cars they're building now will still be on the road. I think we will see more hybrids, more diesels, and more just plain small cars, but I predict most cars will use very similar to present day technology.

Getting the infrastructure to distribute an alternative fuel is going to take a long time. We'd need refineries to make it, and unless it can be shipped through existing pipelines and stored just like gasoline may need totally new pipes and gas stations to distribute it.

except the is a few some style of huge political revolution interior the close to destiny (which isn't likely) it extremely is going to maximum in all threat nonetheless be petrol/diesel fairly than a unfastened or "dream" gas as that's what fuels the financial device the final and there is various invested pastime in it, for the comparable reason i doubt electrical energy powered autos will develop right into a majority, i could think of they'll enhance although.
