Port Vale - Nico Jalink from some Dutch side.
Was the first sub to be subbed in a match I saw. Started his career with a superb free kick beating Peter Shilton when he was at Derby from 25 yards.
After that everything he touched turned to s**t. No vision, 2 left feet on 2 right legs, no pace, need I say any more!!!!!!

Worst player hmmmmmm! I don’t really know, I’m an arsenal fan and to tell you the truth I haven’t seen a weak player in this team for years, all of them were a worthily pay out starting from Henry, Kanu, Suker and Bergkamp from the strikers to Campbell, Cole, Adams in defense and their goalkeepers were always pretty good… but what is the most extraordinary for me is that some of these players that in arsenal are or were stars – they could not be big in other teams, for example take Henry (he never got used to the game in Juventus) or Kanu (his most famous days were in Arsenal) and here is Lehman of course – when he played for Borussia Dortmund he could barely get in the national team – but when he made the transfer to Arsenal he got the national number 1 not Kahn (who is the only goalkeeper that has ever been a best player in a world cup…)

Watford FC: Ginaluca Vialli. I know, a manager not a player, but still one of the worst developments for the club. He came in, saying that Watford would be the 'Man Utd of the First Division, because he was there' but he didn't really know what such a club needs. He sold three perfectly good first teamers, and replaced them with expensive, lilly-livered plonkers: Ramon Vega, Issa Pierre, Patrick Blondeau
His first game was a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, and showed up the folly of his transfers. No Peter Kennedy, so nobody to deliver quality set pieces. No Tommy Mooney, so no genuine goal threat. No Steve Palmer, so nobody to man-mark danger men, and Eyal Berkovic pissed all over us.
He also introduced a bizarre passing system in games. I am all for quick, progressive passing, but his tactics were just to pass, pass, pass. There was hardly ever any hurting of the opposition. In some games, we put together movements of about twenty passes (many of them sideways) only for the opposition to get back and crowd us out. Then we would resort to long balls into the box. Last season, we could get from our box to the opposition's in about five forward passes (at pace) and the ball would be in the back of their net.
With tactics like this, we finished 14th in the league, and failed to beat Stockport County who finished bottom; and they were, statistically, one of the worst teams ever in a league season.

IT may come as no surprise, but calamity keeper Massimo Taibi has been rated as United's worst ever player.
A fans survey in FourFourTwo magazine placed the Italian stopper on the dubious pedestal of being the worst performer in Old Trafford history.
Taibi arrived at an Old Trafford jubilently celebrating their European cup triumph, and the number one shirt up for grabs after Peter Schemichel's departure for Sporting Lisbon.
Into the frame came summer capture Taibi - born in Palermo and forged in the heat of Serie A with Venezia. But, like all forgeries, he was found to be inferior to the real thing.
Taibi, described by FourFourTwo as "the sort of player so hapless you felt sure he must get his foot stuck in a bucket at least once a week" arrived at Old Trafford with a £4.5m price tag, and teflon gloves.
His playing career for United covers just four games - but those matches will live on in infamy for Reds fans.
"His crowning moment was stooping to collect a Matt Le Tissier daisy-cutter, a movement enacted with all the grace of a 90-year-old humpback clearing up after an Alsatian," writes the magazine.
"The ball trickled through his legs and into the goal.
"Taibi blamed it on having crap studes, and emphasised his point by shipping another five goals against Chelsea the next week."
Four matches, and that was it. By January he was back in his native Italy, turning out on loan for Reggina - who were somehow convinced to part with £2.5m for him.
Comfirmation; Massimo Taibi~worst ever signing by Manchester United.

I'm a West Ham supporter so no shortage of choice!
I think top prize has to go to Rigabert Song who "defended" woefully during his short (but too long) stay. Other contenders are McKnight (goalkeeper extroardinaire), Titi Camara (annonomous in attack) and Joey Beachamp who never actually played for us!

Its got to be Micheal Owen to Newscastle! A handful of games, suppose to be Alan Shearer's replacement, and now after his injury, he might not even play again. What a waste of money, they would of been better off signing Robbie Fowler.
