wow. when you ask a question like that, you really show your ignorance. The national debt is financed by people buying bonds. If the government paid all bonds today, ahead of schedule, at full value.......everyone that owns a bond would go out and buy more bonds, thus making our debt even greater.
The only way to stop the national debt (only one president ever has) is to not issue any more bonds...ever......now how the hell do you grow an economy when you destroy the bond market?

Yeah, because I'm sure a Democrat could fund a war AND have a surplus at the same time. If John Kerry were president this surely would be able to happen. Do you understand anything about how our government runs, or do you just make general idiotic statements?

Thanks to bush America paid 327 BILLION in interest payments to other countries this year alone. This is FACT not REPUB BS !!! This country is broke due to the way the REPUBS have run this country and who has to pay for this US FOR A ERY LONG TIME!!!!
