A comedy act would be difficult, if you've never done it before.
Maybe they would let you MC the event -thats easier, because you can insert jokes between when you introduce the acts.

If you want to do comedy, do it! Make sure you practice your routine a lot in front of the mirror and in front of other people so you'll look confident, even if you don't feel it.
