I hae a college degree and I wanted to get my real estate license I was told to get my broker license instead. But I don't know anything about the real estate industry. Can I get by broker's license instead of my real estate? And can I still work under a broker since I won't know what I am doing right away?

Real estate brokers are licensed by each state. You need to check
what it is for your state.

Some states will not let you become a broker unless you pass another test and work for a broker for some time period.

There are requirements to be a broker which include at least 5 years of experience. You cannot work for another broker if you are a broker, that doesn't even make sense. I would suggest you not skip steps, there is a lot to know in real estate. You need to take a principles of real estate course first and get your salesperson license, then work your way up to being an associate broker, then broker.

In Tennessee you get your affiliate brokers license. Work under a broker for 3 years then you can take the classes and test for your brokers license. Different from state to state.
