I took like 5 tablespoons, and 5 hours later I was in labor with my first baby girl. Worked great for me, I was 36 weeks at the time

I think you should consult your physician about this. There are many concerns with this method of induction. While evidence is lacking to support this practice, research has demonstrated an increase in meconium (fetal stool) passage with women using castor oil. A more common side effect is diarrhea or gastrointestinal distress, which can lead to dehydration. Based on these considerations the risks appear to outweigh any potential benefits. Talk to your doctor about inducing your labor safely. Maybe with a Pitocin drip, in the hospital under medical supervision.

Save yourself the agony of tasting that stuff! I tried it all! I took castor oil, walked and walked and walked (during a full moon!) lol, but nothing worked! The precious bundle will come when it's ready. I ended up having my labor induced a week after the due date on my doctors advice! Let us know when the day arrives! Good Luck!

Please let you ob/gyn know that you took this when you next see them! I recommend not taking any more until you find out from your doctor or midwife whether or not it is safe. Our mothers mean well for us, but many things that were often recommended in their generation are no longer encouraged for various reasons.
I wish you the best of luck with your labor and delivery and with motherhood. Don't worry, labor will happen in its own time, and if it doesn't, your doctor will take care of helping induce it!
Good luck!

Unless your mom is a doctor... Don't do ANYTHING to induce labor. Is it worth the remote chance that you could do more harm than good?
I was pregnant with my first child for almost 11 months!
Life is just like that sometimes...

I've heard that castrol oil helps...however, its NOT fun when labour starts. It gives you such loose bowl movements that you are more agrivated than ever. How about spicy food coupled with good sex? That's supposed to work as well!!

I've heard it works, but you should never induce labor without the consult from your doctor first.

I tried that it didn't work. I also drank Black Drought it didn't
