Dont understand where you got that cause I tell my husband all the time he is Sexy. I thought men were called handsome and women pretty or beautiful but both men and women can be sexy

Men can also be called sexy... Women can't be called handsome, though. You'd only call a woman handsome if you were suicidal. Serious answer: There are just some words that can only be used to describe one particular gender. That's just the way it is.

my answer was going to be the same as Kim. Men are called sexy, handsome, hot, good looking etc. Women are called sexy, hot, beautiful, etc. Both can be called sexy so what is your point? Don't usually refer to a woman as handsome though.

Men are called sexy.. oh yes! Don't even have to be good looking. There's something about Billy Bob Thornton that's extra sexy, yet he looks like an ordinary redneck.
Johnny Depp is very sexy and so is Christopher Walken.
Handsome is George Clooney... not particularly sexy to me.
Many actresses are very pretty or cute and not sexy at all.
Brad Pitt is very pretty and cute, not at all sexy for me.

They aren't. Sexy is a state of mind, and both men & women are referred to as sexy.
Men are called handsome while women are called gorgeous or beautiful. These adjectives usually refer to physical appearance.
