There are so many lookalikes nowadays, is it possible that at least one person DOES look like you?

That's an issue I was talking about today with some friends of mine! Wow...and I am looking at this question now! lol
I guess there are some people that look alike us...I just want to believe that I am unique and there is no-one else like me all over the world! Super-ego right? :-)

There are surely more than 2 people who look alike .....in fact, long ago it was surveyed that at least 4 people around the world do look alike physically but maybe different stature, character, ways of thinking may differ and so on.
Once I met someone who looked so alike a long lost friend until I found out she was not of the same race as she was, one a Chinese, while the mistaken one was a Japanese! After being friends with the Japanese girl, I realise she was more extrovert and joyful than my old friend! Sad to say, until today(after 20 odd years) I'm yet to know which part of the world my long lost friend is in now! Maybe I should try a search through here!

Someone once told me her cousin is my absolute double. She was a girl at school and she consistently called me by her cousin's name. She didn't have a recent picture to show me, so I'm not sure how true it was, but her sister strongly agreed with her.

I guess there are only so many combinations of features. Everyone must resemble someone else. After all, it may just be in the eyes. the space between features, or the shape of the mouth. We can often identify a friend or celebrity from just one feature, so we may recognise that in another, and believe them to resemble someone else. But as for there being an absolute double of yourself, I think you'd have to be an identical twin for that to be the case.

I have two, actually. A girl from my hometown that I went to school with... she and I look enough alike to be twins. Then I moved to Ohio and all around our small town people kept coming up to me and chatting away like they knew me. Finally, a guy in the hardware store did it and then backed away and apologized profusely... "I'm so sorry! I thought you were ________ who works at the glass company down the street." I had to go and see for myself. Before I had a chance to get a good look at her she spotted me and screamed bloody murder! The resemblance was very striking. Now I've lived here long enough that people call her by my name. *L*

Ever heard of twins? THEY look alike. And there has also been an article confirming the theory of Doppler gang er twins. A doppler gang er is a person who has another person that looks like them but are not related to them in any way.

Not true!

I am proof positive of that. All through my life I have been told by total strangers I look just like so and so. I remember a an old vet in a wheelchair yelling, Maria, Maria, Maria! I heard the voice and thought, "Oh, he's calling me, he thinks I am Maria." I stopped and told him I was not but lots of people think I look like someone they know. He as shocked. I could go on and on and on but one story is enough...It must have happedn 200 times to me. I just have that kind of face that is familiar to everybody.

I KNOW isn't that creepy, lol?!
That we each have a doppelganger roaming on the other side of the earth someplace.
It's possible due to blood relation i.e. family, etc. I've been told that my cousin looks a lot like me, lol!

It depends on what you mean by 'alike'...if you mean absolutely identical, ie no perceivable difference...then yes, no two are alike. If you mean similar, then there are many look-a-likes as you have noted.

It is a universal fact that no two humans are alike. So the possibility is not there. No way.

Identical twins.

And then there's the doppelganger theory, that there is someone somewhere who looks exactly like you. But I don't think it's every been proven. It's just meant to spook us out.
