Eat protein.Lots.Remember to drink more water as well since higher protein adds stress to kidney function.

Eat 4-5 small to medium sized meals a day of meat, poultry, dairy, nuts, avocados just to name a few. Supplement your meals with a good whey protein shake (many varieties at the store) once during the day. Get a vanilla flavor so you can add ingredients to the shake like yogurt, peanut butter, nuts, etc. Remember, at your weight, the body will only take in about 40 grams of protein per day, and the rest is waste. Once your muscles start growing, however, you will need more protein. A calculation to use would be 0.8 grams of protein for every 2.2lbs of body weight. Continue to make sure your body is getting the protein it needs as your body changes. Finally, take a multi-vitamin daily. Weight exercises should focus on strength through low repetitions with relatively heavy weight (but not so heavy that you can't eek out 3 sets of up to 8 reps). I would avoid heavy cardio, but get SOME cardio by not resting too much in between sets, and go from one exercise to another relatively quickly. Good luck!

P.S. There's no such thing as turning fat into muscle. :)

Try lots of protein. Drink protein shakes before bed so that your not exercising too much after you have the drink. If you're that thin then lifting weights won't help you because your better off putting on some fat and turning it into muscle.

What I do is this: In a blender put one banana, strawberries, milk and chocolate syrup. Add about 7-9 ice cubes and blend until crushed. This will make about two big glasses of shake. I drink them about twice a day. It's filling and good for you, while at the same time gain weight.
