Cingular, they have the best range.....Because they have joined with Bellsouth...(the largest phone company in south)

You need to be more specific about where in the South. I work for a cell phone company in northeastern NC and I can tell you that in the eastern part of this state Alltel works the best... and by best I mean they have the most complete coverage, including the very small towns where other companies do not work at all. Still... another company may be better depending on where you are exactly.

Well depending on where you are exactly, SouthernLinc is good. Its like Nextel, but the service is better because its local. The only bad thing is if you travel, the roaming is expensive, but they have plans for that.

there are many different plans, i have cingular but i don't like it you pay 10 cents a text and 30 cents a IM i suggest verison if you are looking for free text and 1500 minutes.

Verizon has the most coverage, but the worst rate plans.

any cell phone co is only as good as there coverage goes! I have cingular, virgin mobil and tracfone...just to cover every spot!

depending where you are located, verizon. i live in the mountains of north carolina and verizon owns the majority of the towers here.
