I have olivy/golden complexion skin, what is the best foundation out there in terms of colour choice, how long it lasts on you and how it affects your skin (spot breakouts etc). I've heard good things about Dior foundation...thanks for you help!

Dior Icone is awesome but super expensive and makes you look a little to made up for my tastes (if you want flawless coverage, this ones for you). It will cost you about 45 bucks for a tube. If you go to your stores make up counter you can try it for free and they usually give you a sample that lasts a week or so. I now use Loreal's Bare Naturale for a more natural coverage. It comes in powder form but covers my flaws like a foundation without the heavy feel. That costs about 13-15 dollars, but it works great for sensitive skin and hasn't caused any sort of breakout yet.

Mary Kay's medium coverage foundation. It controls oil for like 6 hours and is long lasting! Once you put it on you barely can even feel it. Find an independent beauty consultant for a complimentary facial and make over! They are lots of fun and you get to try the products hands on! Foundation is actually a good part of a skin care regimen...it protects your skin from harmful environmental things while it evens out skin tone and covers blemishes. Mary Kay also customizes it's skin care for YOUR needs! If you have oily skin use the Medium coverage...dry skin use the full coverage. Your IBC will explain it all! Good luck!

I would definitely try Dior foundation (and afterall, they are known for their high quality foundations).

My skin tone is very similar to yours.
I myself have very fussy, sensitive but oily skin. Most foundations slip off my skin after an hour of applying and always clog my pores and make me break out, or make my skin flaky in certain areas.

Dior foundation is the only foundation that helps me stay matte throughout the day (and night - for those nightclubbers out there). They have a wide variety of shades and it applies very nicely (and does not feel heavy)- evens out skin, and makes skin look very healthy and radiant. It stays on well in hot weather too.

You can also try Dior compact foundation - which I also use. It is very good, and blends well with your natural skin tone. It's one of the few compact foundations that never cake (even after multiple re-touching throughout the day) and does not feel heavy on the skin.

I use the liquid foundation in 200 and compact in 300. You should visit your local Dior counter and have an expert recommend the right color for you.

Hope that helped, good luck!

Yep... Bare Minerals!
The way you're describing your skin tone, you might wear the light foundation, but you can go on line and check out the website to determine your color. If you're lucky enough to live in a city where there is a boutique, you can go there and they will show you how to apply it and help you pick out colors for your skin tone.
Try also going to any Ulta store. They carry the foundation, and limited other products in that line. They can also educate you on which colors would work best for you, and show you how to apply it.
Good luck!

Try bare minerals, they have many colors that compliment all complexion's. I am African American and have a honey complexion and this is the first company i know who had a color that will work. This powder foundation has actually helped my skin.

Try Estee Lauder "Double Wear" foundation....It gives fantastic coverage without making you look caked on. If you go to the Estee Lauder counter (in a dept store like a Filenes, Macy's, etc) They will match the color to your skin tone and also give you a free 7 day sample so you will KNOW it will work for you before you buy it! They don't always offer this, but they have to give it to you if you ask!! :) Hope that helps honey! good luck!

I also have olive skin and I was a make up artist in the past. I have tried cheap stuff and expensive stuff and my all time favorite is Dior. It does not make me break out at all and it smells pleasant... if you have somewhat oily skin, Chanel can look really fake and greasy after a while. Thats just my experience. : )

BeautiControl makes a wet/dry foundation. It can be applied dry with a makeup sponge. It goes on like a powder with coverage like a liquid foundation. It's an awesome product!
