Sometimes I feel redundant because I have already told them "Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you" at the end of whatever the e-mail said and they respond with just a one line "thanks". Do I need to respond with a "You're welcome!" every time?

U dont really have to. 'Thank You' is just one of the ways to ending an email. They might find you irritating replying 'You are welcome'.

Nope, this will only create unnecessary e-mail going around
the net which can clog your company network. Imagine, your company sending 100,000 e- greeting cards to their customers and
each and everyone return saying thank you. would you be sending
back 100,000 e-mails to say you're welcome.

I don't think so. If they respond with just one line, thanks, I think the transaction is closed and you can let it go. But that's my personal opinion, I have not been schooled in business "e-etiquette."

Do it. If it is nongeneric, all the better. Send ecards on all family members birthdays and holidays, and you will always have their business, forever.

I wouldn't think so. Actually, I think the "thanks" is overkill. E-mails are short, sweet, and to the point.
