When my boyfriend and i moved in together 3 years ago it was a disaster. He would just leave things laying around all the time. lets say he would have a glass of juice, he would leave the cup in the same place on his desk untill i came and cleaned it up or untill there were 5 cups on his desk and he couldn't see the computer screen anymore. At first i freaked out and screamed like crazy "why are you so messy!" Well that got us nowhere fast. Eventually i just sat down and talked with him calmly. I just explained he can't expect me to clean up after him all the time and we can't live so messy. I want to be able to invite my friends over and not have to worry about a pair of boxers being there to greet us on the livingroom floor. this was not an easy conversation to have, however a nessesary one. right after we talked he was very conserned about keeping things clean because it upsets me when he doesn't. it upsets him when i yell about the mess so instead i give him little reminders. "hey honey can you put that cup into the dishwasher when you go in the kitchen?" This seems to have worked very well. The one thing to remember about men is that they don't know what you want unless you tell them.

You probably should start looking for another boyfriend who is also a neat freak.
Honestly, as both of you are of totally different character, this means incompatible ..better consider very carefully b4 gettting married.

You need to ask him if he wouldn't mind picking up after himself. It sounds like he had a mother that did everything for him. Guys can be trained, it just takes time and patience. If that's all you have to complain about this man, sounds like you could make concessions for him as your neatness might be a concern for him.

well you knew he is messy guy but why are you with him??? don't you notice that you really love him no matter what he is?? my wife don't know how to put toilet paper on the roll... my wife don't know how to put dirty clothes in the dirty basket??? on and on alot to list but you know I love her so much no matter what she is becasue she being her... that what I like about her smiling.

You should not worry abou tthis too much and think why you with him and write the list you like about him and not like about him. your true answer will tell you.. My did it comes out I love her more than what I don't like about her and it proof how much I truly in love and if not then i wouldn't be with her.

My hubby is like that - I just pick everything up and do all the laundry. He pays the bills so I do my part. I don't mind. I like knowing he's got clean clothes every day. :)

All I can say is that you probably are not going to change that part of him, just pick them up if it bothers you that bad because if that is the worst thing he does, in the greater scheme of things that's not bad.

Here is what you do:
*He leaves his clothes out: hide them or give them to the homeless.
*He leaves crap all over the bathroom counter: put it in the toilet.
*He shaves and leaves hair all over: take a buzzer to his head while he sleeps.
*He leaves food/ dishes all over the kitchen. Refuse to cook, refuse to buy groceries.
I hope this helps.

Gather all his dirty clothes and put them on his side of the bed. Let the pile grow.
