Is this the first time? I would write detailed "diary" of dates, when what, and how. Then I would take her to the family dactor and get professional advice, especially if she continues to leave the flat, or if she does dangerous things while sleepwalking.

No there is no real way to stop her. Contrary to popular belief, you should wake her up though. You should do it carefully and in a safe spot. Ie. I wouldn't try to wake her up if she was standing on the stairs.

The sleepwalking is probably a phase and it's a common one at that.

I would also reccommend making sure the windows are secured as well.

I would talk to her physcian about it. She should grow out of it. I did but not until I was 23.
