no logic just emotions and for me stupidity. They believe that Hexbollah won a great victory because Israel simply did not walk over them as she usually has over Arab armies and forces. They are not looking at the big picture, which boils down to, that even the Israeli public would not have sanctioned a full scale escalation of the conflict, much less anyone else.
More telling for them from my point of view was the singular lack of interest and vehement condemnation by most regional governments. A new era is dawning in the ME and with governments more and more recognizing the danger of groups like Hezbollah, Hamas et al hijacking the national agenda and drawing them into wider regional and global conflicts watch for a crackdown soon. Israel recognized the danger some years back when they cracked down on their settlers expect the same from other governments in the region soon.

Hezbollah is a long time Israeli ally. Its main job was to give Israel an innocent appearance. It is celebrating because Israel will again award it a contract to control SOuthern Lebanon for Israel. So it is a renewal of contract.
Hezbollah is born again Amal Malysia which along with Christian Phalengists killed 3000 women, girls all un-armed in Shatilla and Sabira camp on 16th Septmebr 1982 on the orders of Sharon. Later Amal got so infamous that it had to be disbanded and it is then re-emeged as Hezbollah. It is like giving prtoection and sending Khomini to bring "Islamic Revolution" while France can't tolerate a headscarf and prevented winning party in Algeria and then killed 70,000 Muslims there, sent Khomini to bring Islam in Iran. Amazing!!!!1

You cannot condemn the Israelies for using excessive force because they have been defending themselves for 58 years. They need to show they're strength. Hiballah is at fault and needs to be punished.

They didnt start the conflict - they started the CURRENT WAVE of the conflict. This has been going on for over 20 years. This is the second time Israel has been kicked out of Lebanon.

I strongly disagree with your assessment of Israel. Hezbullah is a Lebanese Shi'ite Islamist terrorist organization. Founded in southern Lebanon in 1982 as a response to Israel's invasion there, its original goals were to drive Israeli troops out of Lebanon and form a Shi'ite Islamic republic similar to that created by the Iranian revolution of 1979. It is now intent on terrorising Israel. It is supported by Syria and Iran. Israel has left Lebanon in 2000, and since Hezbullah, with the help of Iran, has amassed munition and missiles they are now using against Israel.
Lebanon has been occupied and controlled by Syria for decades. The beautiful Lebanon, the French Riviera of the Middle East was destroyed in the Lebanese civil war in the 60's and 70's. The Christian minority that ruled Lebanon and brought it to its splendor has been overtaken by the vilolent Islamic extremists.
Hezbollah is accepted in parts of Lebanon because the population truly has absolutely no say and no choice in the matter. If you oppose Hezbollah, you die. The Lebanese Prime Minister Harriri was assassinated for opposing the Syrian occupation. The current Lebanese government is helpless.
Lets address how the current situation began:
BUT FOR Hezbollah going on Israeli soil, killing 8 and kidnapping 2 Israeli soldiers, Israel would not be on the offensive to destory Hezbollah. This is not a war on Lebanon. It is a war on Hezbollah and its backers (Syria and Iran). Since the Lebanese army that numbers about 150,000 soldiers is unwilling and/or unable to remove Hezbollah's 5,000 terrorists, Israel will.
Israel wants peace and recognition of its existence. The Muslim extremists, including Syria and Iran regimes want Israel wiped off the face of the earth, and have repeatedly said so. Israel has absolutely no interest in claiming Lebanon, or any other Arab country.
The Muslim world has missed every opportunity to make peace with Israel. When a Muslim country and brave leader did make peace with Israel (the late Egyptian President Anwar al-Sadat), he was assassinated by Iranian-backed group.
Unfortunately for the modern world, the Muslims have been conditioned by their dictatorial regimes to have one thought, the same as the regime. There is no spectrum of opinions in the Muslim world, there is no freedom of expression, freedom of thought, freedom to live life freely (exception is in Turkey).
It's time for Muslims to take accountability for their religion and culture. Stop spinning, and address the fact that the Muslim culture is one of the most oppressive and violent cultures, against its own people, and certainly against other cultures.
For those who believe that the extremist element in Islam is small, the numbers are staggering. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in this world. Lets take a very liberal view that only a very small percentage of Muslims are exterme, while the rest of the Muslim world is very peaceful. So if only 10% of Muslims have extreme point of views, and may be a threat, and must be dealt with, meaning dealing with 120 million Muslims! How about 1%? Then you must deal with 12 million Muslims. How about 1/10 of a percent? Then you must deal with 1.2 million Muslims. The numbers are staggering! How do you propose dealing with even the "very low" figures of 1.2 million Muslim extremists?
It would be to the benefit of Lebanon, Israel, the Middle East, and the World to rid of Hezbollah, Hamas, the Syrian and Iranian regime. It must be done to finally have a chance for peace in the region and the world.

from what little i understand, as much as hezbollah is the cause of this mess, they are also much better at winning the hearts of the people through, rebuilding, supplying, etc. they set up some of the shelters for the citizens... and they are helping rebuild.... unlike israel, and the u.s...
battle is as much winning hearts as it is destroying people
