Go to the person's profile page, and there is a box that says Contacting XXX (Person's name). Under that there is a link called Add to Friends. If you click that it will send them a message asking to be added to your friends list, and it will add you to theirs.

Go to your friends myspace site, click on "add as friend" in the box below their display picture, and then on the page that will appear after that, click on "confirm add as friend".

You go to the persons page you want to add. Then under where is shows there picture is should show a box with 8 things in it. You pick "Add Me"

you have to do it from their page. go to their page and click the add friend button in the box thats under their picture.
For inviting there's a link to how to do that at the top, you just send someone an email to join.
