I reuse the bags all over the house. They are even good as packing material when moving if you crumple them up. I also keep a few in each vehicle to use as trash bags (and rain hats if necessary).

I first use them to finish the carry out/in of the items I just bought. You know to car, to apt. Then its destined to be a trash bag!
Also on a occasion, the bag ends up with my old still resellable clothes to a goodwill donation center.

To protect your shoes while walking in the mud: step one foot into one with your shoe on, then tie it around your leg to protect your shoe from getting muddy! Use two bags for really muddy areas.
I did this and it worked for me! I moved into a new apartment complex right after the landscaping crew had everything all dug up, and then it had rained a lot. It was the worst time i've ever had moving in somewhere!
