that is just old fashioned and stupid, just go and have sex whenever and with whoever you like, it's your life it's your body, enjoy it. and don't give a damn about what anyone says or thinks... i always wonder why people say the word s-l-u-t as if it's a bad thing.

Because my dear, the world is a sexist, unfair place in which we live. Alas, there are but few who realize there is nothing whorish about a female who enjoys having a sex life. A guy who sleeps with as many females as he likes is called "just being a guy" mainly because he is praised for his appeal and the possibility of spreading his seed around. If he sleeps with other men, he's "immoral" or "disgusting" or "wrong." If a female has sex with different men, she is called a "whore" or "s l u t." (By the way - WHORES are PAID.) And god forbid if a woman who enjoys a sex life AND uses protection - ends up pregnant. THEN half the world wants her to go through a pregnancy she may not want JUST because christians think that's what women should do. BULLSH!T ON THAT!! It is just another SEXIST way of punishing women and calling her a whore for enjoying sexual freedom. We all have sexual desire and EVERY woman deserves to enjoy it without being FORCED into giving birth or called "whore, immoral" or anything else. Women are human beings. Sexual beings and NOT all of us are meant to be mothers in exchange for sex. No woman should have to omit sex unless she wants to accept pregnancy. Honey - have sex with whomever you choose and be thankful that there are still some places where you are understood and you have choices over your own body. Don't conform to the sexist double-standards and to hell with what anyone thinks.

I thought this question went out with the sexual revolution of the 70s when boys and girls would jump into bed together without so much as either knowing the others name. Of course at the time there was still the established generation that condemned the behavior, but the condemnation included both sexes. Now a days, I figured you'd have to go back to my 85 year old mother's cronies to find anybody to whisper judgmental remarks about women who had extramarital sex. If there are still people who want to put labels on others for indulging perfectly natural desires, screw 'em.

Maybe because men have "owned" the names they are called (i.e. philanderer, womanizer, stud, etc.). They (in general) don't seem to mind if people make comments about them being oversexed.
Women need to stand up and do the same. Take pride in the fact that you look great and can "get it" any time you want. If someone calls you a "whore" (even though it will feel weird the first few times), just be like "yeah!...it was good too!"

Just watch Animal Planet - this idea is based on natural animal behavior. The male is conditioned to spread his seed to procreate, even if this is no longer necessary for human animals. The number of partners a female has generally has no bearing on whether or not she can procreate, so instead they are condition to seek the "one right mate." Thus, in the natural world, males seek quantity and females seek quality, and that is how they continue to survive as a species. Anything other than that is basically going against the natural order of things.
Not saying I necessarily agree with this, but that is just the way it is.

It is a sexist world, there is no denying it. But the fact that men have been honored with having lots of sex makes it "ok" for them. It is common knowledge that the males of the society often have more then woman as it is shown in traditional middle eastern lifestyles where 1 man could have up to 30 wives.

The same reason that in a lot of cultures, women can't even hold down a job, own property or vote. The same reason men get away with rape and have millions of varieties of pornography to cater to their every whim. Same reason they earn 30% more for the same exact job and are promoted exponentially more often than women.
Because they run everything, and until we start seriously challenging that, they will continue to behave however they like without any of the repercussions we face.

Why is it wrong for a woman to eat her own excrement? Some things are so perfectly obvious that if you don't understand them at the beginning, then you never will.
But I will give this a shot. The difference, simply, is child bearing. A man enters a harlot and at the end of the dirty act can wash himself and be clean. He has taken nothing inside of him. A sl*ut takes a man inside of her, the man discharges, and that "stain" is in some sense, always with her. She carries it with her, it can't be washed away. All children that she bears grow in, and are delivered to the world through, that very stain. Sentencing her innocent children to this "fate" is what eventually condemns her as selfish and immoral in society.
You are obviously a very sexual person. You probably watch porn. Think of an extremely gonzo porn scene: one chick, like 7 guys all goin' after her in all her holes, using her body simply as a set of holes with handles. Now think of this emptyheaded sl*ut having a child. Think of her holding her baby in her arms, then putting it in a cradle, then going back on set with 7 more new and strange men. All the holes are opened and used again. You either see the difference between her, and the guys using her, or you don't.
Men and women aren't the same. Anyone that thinks they are is fundamentally obtuse. Sadly, today's culture and educational system teaches and encourages stupidity over millenium long understood simple common sense.
Thus endeth the lesson ...

oh, the glorious double standard. it's unfair, it's frustrating, and it's so often self-perpetuated. it's not just men calling us that, we call each other things like that too. as far as defeating the double standard goes, i dunno where to begin. even if we do come from the same desires, somewhere along the line social constructs "dictated" that it's supposed to be different for women. while we know it's a total farce, it just keeps going.
