With Pedro listed day to day, the Mets are left with Glavine, Hernandez, Trachsel, Maine and Oliver. For the most part, this pitching staff has been pretty consistent. Who do you think should pitch in the 2,3 and 4 spots?

Okay...I'll ask it a different way. Who is a better pitcher? Trachsel, Hernandez or Maine?

When it comes to a playoff rotation, after Pedro, the best option if El Duque...he has an OUTSTANDING playoff record. Trachsel has been hot as of late, but no one has a better playoff record than Hernandez.

For the playoffs, it should be Pedro, Duque, Glavine, Trachsel (4 man rotation for the 1st round...after that, they can thrown in the other guys as needed)

How can I put this nicely? The Mets are screwed.

Pedro's been banged up and pitching unfitting of an ace all year. Glavine and Trachsel aren't going to match up well against other teams 1 and 2 starters if he can't go... which throws everything else out of whack.

Darren Oliver is an absolute pig. He's been solid out of the pen this year, but that won't last as a starter. El Duque is a great clutch guy, but his age tends to catch up to him at some pretty bad times.

Lastly, John Maine. This kid looks great lately. Is it a hot run, or is he the real deal? We're gonna have to find out.

Glavine is defenitely the #2

As for Trachsel, yes, he is 11-5 this year, but his ERA is over 5.00, he's been getting A LOT of run support. El Duque has been great in his last 4 starts and John Maine has show a lot of promise. We''ll just have to wait and see down the stretch what all these guys do.

I would have Trachsel at the 2 spot and Hernandez at #3 but I don't think it will matter much since they have such a big lead.

Why should they do something with the rotation. Leave it alone and wait for October.
