I've heard you shouldn't keep it in your wallet, but I keep it there anyway. Where do you keep yours?

At home in a safe place, wherever you keep your important paperwork (you should have a place). Mine is in a safe that is both flood and fire proof- I don't use the lock on the safe though! There is no need to carry it around in your wallet all the time.

In a safe place at home. NEVER keep it in a wallet or purse. If it's ever stolen that's all thieves need to complete the task of ID theft.

I keep it in a secure place at home, not in my wallet unless I need to bring it somewhere as ID. It's a sad truth that we have to worry about identity theft so much these days.

In an old wallet in my bureau drawer. I've lost my ss card in the past and it's a pain to replace.

You shouldn't carry it with you at all times. Make sure you have the # memorized and keep the card somewhere safe (file cabinet, etc.). The only time you ever really need the card is when filling out paperwork for a job, etc.

I keep mine in my wallet as well. When I didn't keep it there, I could never find it. If someone wants to steal my ID, let them. They will be the ones that will have to deal with my debts then. :)

I have my SS number memorized. and keep the original in a lockbox at home. If you keep it in your wallet it can get stolen, or your wife can wash it in the washing machine ect....If you have ever tryed to get a replacement you'll find out you should have kept it under lock and key!

In my wallet and I shouldn't.
I'm probably going to rent a safe deposit box and put my social security card, my passport, and some expensive jewelry in there... probably the safest place.

at home, locked up. its not safe to keep it in your wallet at all, if you ever lost your wallet and someone found that, you may have to deal with identify theft.
