I don't think so. I think they're just trying to pull your leg. I have lots of Americans as friends. And I mean close friends. They don't know much about South Africa, but they are not as stupid as some make them out to be. The really uneducated freaks will believe that but I'm willing to let them believe whatever. I have found some interesting foreigners that do believe that sh*t. To them I just concur and indulge in my own pleasure. Like telling them of my pet elephant and how I got to school with lightning speed because of my cheetah.

ha ha...we eat sand...best one i've heard for a while now!!

Well Americans might still think that we have lions roaming around in our back gardens but if they do we should just educate them about it and let them know how it really is in South Africa.

When I was 15 years old the International Ice Hockey Championships were held in our town in South Africa. I met so many people from different countries and most of them thought that the wild animals share the streets with us. I was just laughing! One of the reasons why they are called wild animals is cause they are wild! they are hungry predators and if they were to live in the streets there would be very few South Africans left!
I was in Germany 4 years ago and one guy asked me where I'm from. First he was guessing and came up with America, UK, Ireland. When I said no South Africa he was so surprised and asked me "why aren't you black"! So I said cause I'm white, there are many white South Africans with European descents.
Come visit Africa and see what it is all about.

there are ignorant people all over the world who don't have the facts or care.....just like some of the people in Southern Africa probably think incorrect things about our backyards, so get off you high horse. I dont know of anyone who thinks that.
