Please keep in mind we have an "older" crowd of 40+ folks... men and women. Only 10 employees - we need something unique! We've done gift certificates, gift baskets, etc... any ideas?

Also, we do a Christmas party every year (either at a restaurant/at the owner's home)AND we also have a big catered meal the last day before Christmas.

If you haven't gotten feed back from your employees - now is the time to do it! While you may have "already done the gift card thing" - they really do make nice gifts! Gas Cards would be most appreciated since the cost of gas is skyrocketing. I like the previous suggestion of a day at the spa or golf outing. Maybe a cute certificate that says "celebrate Christmas throughout the year - one day off with pay." Finally - maybe a donation in the name of that person to his/her favorite charity. You are already doing the bonus, party, etc. Maybe helping someone else would make everyone feel good!

Christmas Gift Ideas For Employees

2016-12-18 05:17:49 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

The holidays are a big financial strain for most families. I don't get any kind of gift from my boss but I know I'd appreciate some extra cash or at least a gift card to Wal-Mart or a grocery store. If you don't want to do the whoe gift card thing, why not a nice Christmas ham? My mom used to get one and it was great because she didn't have to really worry about Christmas dinner. If a ham is too expensive, why not put together a basket of traditional side dishes. You could get a pie, and maybe some boxes of stuffing, some dinner rolls, potatoes. Good luck!

As an employee for a smaller company, my employer does the Christmas luncheon/dinner every year and we get the company bonus as well. The gifts we get are usually smaller, like gift baskets and out of the ordinary bakeware. For $150 I think this year I would give a gift basket dedicated to the cost of driving, i.e., a basket with car fresheners, a car wash or two, a drink holder, a CD with classical music (keeps the car environment calm...lol), and a gas gift card because no matter what age we are, we could all use a gas card, believe me! Prayers =)

One Idea is that the one that has been with you the longest you can get them a car for there loyalty to you and a nice incentive for others to stay with you as long as they have. yes it can be a company car just in case they move on that way it could get traded in for another and go to the next one down. then the rest of them could get gift certificates to Normstroms, Gottschalks, Etc. and a nice Christmas dinner with gift cards that have extra cash in it. and if you want to to go all out for them you could you could get them a camera nice one (not the disposable too cheep,) and a scrapbook to keep all there memories in it. and they can make new ones with there boss of the wonderful time they are having at the party. I have employees and they do well when the bosses always go all out for them. People do appreciate it when there boss spoils them once in a while and ex-specially at Christmas. here is another idea take them on a skying retreat for a week with there families if u choose. then at the end of the retreat have a wonder full dinner and gifts like sweaters, gloves, thermals, any thing to do with the snow. make your gift bags with a big snowman on it make the theme around the snow

No one needs more stuff, especially something "unique". Give them the cash and they will be grateful.

Or what my husbands company did that saved our butts many years was a gift certificate at the local grocery store that "bought" us Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate) dinner. I'm still thankful and the kids are adults, the husband is an ex, the company hasn't existed in years.

If you are spending $100 - $150 for each employee, I would say pile on a bus and go to the casino or buy them each a digital photo frame if they're computer literate (ex. http://www.abcdistributing.com/home/catalog/cat_item_pg.asp?P=51&G=353&Kwd=Electronics&Item=313064-8V4R&Page=2 sells for $129.95). If it is that amount for all 10 employees, maybe buy them a nice little clock, a picnic basket set. Check out www.abcdistributing.com. It's a really nice catalog with lots of inexpensive stuff. Hope this helps.

Take your employees out on a day trip... as friends. I always feel valued and appreciated when my boss and his wife invite me to their home for drinks, or we meet up to go out to eat.... It's nice to know they respect me as an employee and a friend!

Take care to keep your budget within $100-$150 per person, including travel, ticket prices, or food - this would limit how far you go, but if you live in a large city this may not be a problem.

The activity could be as simple as attending an art museum with dinner afterwards, to a day being pampered at a local spa. Other options would be attending a concert (as long as everyone in general likes the music), going on a helicopter ride over your city, or to a play. The idea is to relax and enjoy time with employees as friends... remember not to talk too much about work! ; )

Since it is only August and you have plenty of time until Christmas and a SMALL amount of employees, I would send out a survey asking your employees about hobbies, interests, etc. Make each gift personal. If you are spending that amount on each employee, then you should be able to get each person a nice gift that they PERSONALLY will enjoy.

You should plan a party at a nice restaurant or hall. Allow them each to bring a spouse or significant other.

Are you giving Christmas bonuses? If not cash is always a good thing.

Ok then. I am out of ideas but can I come work for you all?
