internet problems?

my modem won't flash sometimes when i turn on my computer, but 4 lights appear, its a motorola surfboard modem, i opened up the computer and jiggled the network card and sometimes this helps and the modem works (like now) is this a network card problem, which involves purchasing a new one, or is it a system problem, cos it seems like the network card operates when i reset the computer sometimes-thanks for any help!!

Screw in the screw that holds the card into the puter, then make sure all connections are tight.. If it doesn't help, you should contact the provider..
