As far as modern horror films go, this is one of the best. I say this because the truly scary moments are the ones that come before the monsters are even shown. The claustrophobia they build as the girls go deeper is very effective. I don't think I am spoiling anything by saying there is a scene of the main character getting stuck for a while that is very scary and made me uncomfortable watching it.

I guess the American and British editions are different and have different endings. The British one is very scary, but the American version, not so much. Buy an all-region DVD player and get yourself hooked up with some excellent DVD's from the UK and Asia (although many of those are NTSC the United States Format).

It will scare you if you're easily scared. It is more disgusting than anything. It's not that great at all but I guess it depends on what you like in movies. I like good acting and stories and that wasn't the case with Descent.

I've seen it I love it and i couldn't tell u if it was scary (not to sound like am braggin)because scary movies don't scare me . I guess some people would consider it scary.

It is really scary. This is the first movie where I actually screamed in the theater! It also gave me and my friends nightmares.

I did not see it but was told it was really bloody and fairly scary. I was told to see it if I liked horror movies.

the first half not at all, but the second half is pretty freaky.
