I dont believe you can get one because of the length of the marriage hon. BUT, there is a light at the end of the tunnel......... you could just kill him and claim battered woman syndrome. Then you would be a widow and be allowed to remarry in the church. Just Joking. Im sure you have thought about that plenty of times yourself. I had been through a similar situation. My church does not believe in divorce unless they die or commit adultry. After many years of physical abuse I finally walked in on him with another woman. That is all I needed to divorce him. I will keep you in my prayers. Good luck!

First of all, I'm referring to a legal annulment and not the type that are granted in the catholic church. In the catholic church, you can spend a ton of money and denounce the marriage that produced 3 kids if you want, but you are still legally divorced. Basically, money talks and your marriage will be forgotten if you can come up with the right amount of money.
As far as the legal side of marriage, you cannot annul a 22 year marriage. Marriage is a legal contract that can only be broken in very specific circumstances. For example- you can only break your rental or lease contract under very strict circumstances.
You can only obtain an annulment if you can prove that one of both of you were forced against your will into the marriage or that one of you were not in a clear state of mind during the time leading up to the marriage (example- mental health or drug issues).
This information is what I was told when I consulted an attorney last summer.

I highly doubt anyone would grant an anullment to someone married after 22 years. I wouldnt worry about it too much tho sweets. Many churches will remarry a couple even if they have had divorces. Divorce is so common these days, its hard to find someone who has never been married. Good luck.

So, your question seems to be like- is he extreme? i think of you often is the only individual that could desire to think of he replaced into something different than a hundred% extreme. He has degraded you, insulted you, cheated on you, advised you it extremely is over, etc. etc. What do no longer you get? He even treats the youngsters badly. you will have some delight and self esteem and record for divorce, like the day basically before this...and that i hardly propose divorce. i could wager he in elementary terms sees your reaction to no longer getting it as very almost pathetic. bypass already- get a life, first for you and your toddlers and then perhaps sooner or later with a guy that loves and respects you and your toddlers- you have wasted 22 YEARS already. They do exist although after 22 years, you will possibly no longer undergo in techniques or believe it. life is short. I rather have been married the comparable quantity of time and could't think of putting up with even between the flaws you mentioned and not even in elementary terms for one time, no longer to show a life-time of it. heavily, this could be one in all those situations the place in case you reside, I hate to declare it, yet you should be unhappy. do no longer you desire to be happy? it is not going to take place till you get him out of your life and study why you place up together with his crap.

No, you can't have it anulled, you have to get a divorce. You can still remarry after 1 year of divorce. Sometimes, after only six months if it's uncontested and everything is split up.

Yes, you have grounds for annullment but it is very difficult and expensive. Plus you have to have evidence. If you find a fantastic person, will it really matter where you get married?

I don't think you can get an annullment after that amount of time. You need to check with your state laws regarding this. Have you had children with this man?
